SUTCLIFFE NO MORE // BRIGHTER DEATH NOW
Alternative TV, Brighter Death Now, and Sutcliffe No More will come together for an unforgettable musical experience that promises diversity, exclusivity, and a celebration of the multifaceted sides of the scene. These bands are in their own unique style and following, a rare appearance on stage together.
All three artsits continue to be a driving force in the underground music scene.
SUTCLIFFE NO MORE - the latest name for the cult Power Electronics project comprising Kevin Tomkins and Paul Taylor. Tomkins, emerged as Sutcliffe Jugend in 1982, exploring the extremities of electronic music, soundtracking the darkest reaches of the violent human psyche, often simply mirroring the mainstream media's own cynical obsession with violence and true crime. Kevin then became an early member of another PE project Whitehouse, before continuing as Sutcliffe Jugend with Paul Taylor.
ALTERNATIVE TV - Before making his own music with Alternative TV, Mark Perry was the founding editor the first UK punk fanzine, Sniffin’ Glue in July 1976. He was working as a bank clerk at the time. Within a few months Mark had left his job and Sniffin’Glue had become an essential part of the growing UK punk scene which included bands like the Sex Pistols, the Clash and the Damned. As the main punk writer, Mark became one of the most important personalities in the scene, making numerous media appearances to explain punk to the masses.
BRIGHTER DEATH NOW - is the personal project of Roger Karmanik. BDN was the original death industrial act, combining whitehouse-style walls of white noise with churning repetitive sounds and vocal performances that range from commanding to the animalistic and savage, between petulant spoiled-brat and serial killer. Obsessed with visions of death, decadence, decay and psychosis , Karmanik never misses the opportunity to show the dark humorous side of his personality and always pushing the uneasy line between art and self destruction.
